Acceptable Use Policy

This policy describes what you may not do with Dead Simple Hosting servers and services. It exists to keep the platform safe for every community on it — your server shares infrastructure with other people's servers, so abuse is never only your problem. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.

1. Run game servers, not anything else

Plans are sold for hosting Minecraft servers, their companion services (proxies, managed databases we provision), and reasonable supporting plugins/mods. You may not use the infrastructure as a general-purpose compute box: no cryptocurrency mining, no unrelated background workloads, no proxies/VPN exits, no traffic relays, no using server processes to attack, scan, or flood anything.

2. Zero tolerance (immediate suspension)

• Child sexual abuse material, or sexual content involving minors, in any form — reported to the appropriate authorities.
• Launching or facilitating attacks: DDoS, botnets, credential stuffing, port scanning, malware distribution or command-and-control.
• Content or activity that is illegal where you are, where we operate, or that creates immediate legal risk for us.

3. Content rules

• Respect other people's work. Only install modpacks, plugins, worlds, and assets you have the right to use. We respond to credible infringement notices — see Section 6.
• No harassment hubs. Servers that exist primarily to harass, dox, defame, or coordinate abuse of people are not welcome.
• You moderate your community. What happens between your players on your server is yours to moderate; we step in when it crosses into the categories above or affects the platform.

4. Fair use of shared resources

• Your plan's memory allocation is dedicated to you. CPU, disk I/O, and network are shared fairly across servers — sustained abuse designed to monopolize them (deliberate lag machines, fork bombs, entity/chunk-loading abuse as a service, storage stuffing unrelated to gameplay) may be throttled or suspended.
• "Unmetered" network transfer means we do not bill per byte; it is not a license to run a file-distribution service off your server volume.

5. Account integrity

• No reselling access to your panel account itself. (Selling ranks, cosmetics, or access within your community is fine and yours — we take no cut; you are responsible for complying with the Minecraft EULA's monetization rules.)
• No evading suspensions, probing our infrastructure, or interfering with other customers' servers. Security research is welcome only through responsible disclosure via support — never live testing against the platform.
• No abusing refunds, trials, or promotional mechanics.

6. Reports and takedowns

To report abuse or claimed infringement, contact support or [abuse contact email pending] with enough detail to locate the material (server address, content, timestamps) and, for infringement claims, the information a DMCA-style notice requires (identification of the work, your rights, a good-faith statement, signature, contact). We review promptly, may remove content or suspend servers while we investigate, and will notify the affected customer where the law allows.

7. Enforcement ladder

Unless a violation falls under Section 2, enforcement is proportionate: we will usually warn you and ask you to fix the problem, then suspend the offending server, and only then terminate. We preserve your data through ordinary enforcement per the retention windows in the Terms, except where the law requires otherwise.
